Facebook's E-Mail Service

The major social networking site Facebook is going to introduce an email service. Its designed in such a manner so that they can directly compete with Google's Gmail. The project is internally known as project Titan.

The social networking giant "Facebook" has more than 500 million users arround the world. The company wants that people spend much more time on their site. So the company on Monday is expected to announce the launch of its new Email service. Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg is expected to speak about the project Titan.

Facebook currently offers internal messaging and chat services within its website, But the new product is going to be something more than the existing platform. The company is goint to build a complete webmail client. According to the plan the users will get their personal email address ends with "@facebook.com".

Facebook announces lots of new services in the recent months. But this announcement is going to be the most important one. Facebook recently unveiled a service that allows users to announce their location and that borrows from services like Foursquare and Gowalla; a Groups feature, that allows its users to share items with select groups of friends; and a service allowing merchants to offer users coupons and special offers on their mobile phones.
