"" London 2012: India feels frustration of great nation with small returns""
As far as India is concerned this Olympics is a huge achievement, not just because it managed the biggest medal tally ever in sports. The English newspaper has to understand that India has fielded 81 quality athletes to the best sporting arena this time. India participated in 12 events and most of them except and Swimming they avoided the bottom finish.
The Medal which Saina NEHWAL grabbed is something worthy of 10 Gold medals. Can a British, American or Japanese snatch a medal from China in the Women's badminton. It like the impossible.
The battle has just started. The Gold medal must have eluded us but look at the medal tally how well it stands above all other Olympics where it featured. For Indians the result of this Olympics is like Celebration. Its in this Olympics when quite a majority of people from India knew what is happening in World Sports. The country is gaining knowledge as a whole. You cannot compare it with the arrogant dictatorship of China or Korea or the Gulf nations. India is the worlds best democratic country and so its people has the right to choose and enjoy its sport. What right does "guardian" have to criticize the Cricket in India...
Iam not writing anything more. Please see the joy in India and the happiness people are having when they see the Olympics and try to understand that this extravaganza is a culture and not a medal race ....
The report of Guardian is attached below
