Oh what an emphatic victory for Australia in their second world cup encounter here in India. So the unbeaten run in World cup continues. Australia once again proved their command over New Zealand in the shorter format of the game. Nagpur had a usual bright sunny day, where after winning the toss Australia send the kiwis to bat. Ponting knew that the early moisture in the pitch can really give an extra edge for his mighty pacers especially Tait. Tait proved the captain right by scalping Brenden McCullum, with his extra aggression. It was praiseworthy that captain Ponting, really used Tait in very short spells of 2-3 as mentioned earlier this week. Tait was more productive in the later overs as he finished the game with three wickets. Australia featured four bowlers in the 10th over as its Captain really rotated the bowlers. But once Mitchell ripped over the middle order,  New Zealand was never in a position to come back into the match. thanks to the brave and smart work by vet tori and Nathan Mccullum. Mich was truly exceptional once again with the ball as he plucked four important kiwi wickets.

When it came to the batting, it was a truly different Watson and Had din in the pitch( the orginal watso and haddo) when compared to the last match. Maintaining run rate of seven from the beginning till they edged 100 in the 14th over was marvelous. Watson the asset i would say for the Team Australia once again managed to play the pivotal role as Haddin had the chance to free his arms. i remembered those mighty days of Australia back in 2000-2008 where Gilly and Haydos used  to give flying start to Australia. Captain Ponting would be really happy by the way in which his players are going. And did u see that ripper from Ponting in the middle of New Zealand innings where he dived hard to his right to stop a bullet drive from Lee. The commitment he shows in the field and also the motivation and ability to use his players is praiseworthy.

The worst thing that has happened to the team is the injury woos to another pacer Dougie Bollinger. He  developed a major problem in ankle of the foot on which he lands while bowlinng. This could be a mighty blow to the Australian bowling department even though he has not played any match in this world cup. Douggie has outstanding records in the subcontinent and was my favourate to make an impact in this world cup. Peter Siddle could be the possible alternative but need to get an official confirmation. Another problem I found in the bowling arena is the slow over rate. with three fast bowlers and a bowler like Watson, it would be never easy to bowl 13-14 overs in an hour. In todays match what i found is that when New Zealand where 97/6 at one stage Ponting switched from pace to spin which resulted in the recovery of the kiwi innings.I felt that he should ripped apart New Zealand lower order too. but ponting is a well experienced player and he would have solid reasons to defend his stand. I still couldnt think of the reason of how to increase the over rate. Someone will have to come up with a practical and attractive reason to this query.
The reluctant bowler Watson (as Ravi shastri said in commentary) and part timers like hussey and Clarke should me made to turn their arms for 2-3 overs atleast in the matches against the minnows so that they too get in touch if a situation arises. We dont have any big worries apart from the injury of standby bowler bollinger. Hats off to ponting who really takes cares of our fast bowlers making them bowl very short spells effectively.

Leg spinners are getting good attention in this World cup as we saw Tahir, Afridi and Piyush chawla making their impact with their les spin. We too have a legspinner in Stephen Smith who have the ability to tempt batsmen play shots which may result in making errors. Also he is a great athlete in the field plus his power hitting skills. So far everything has come good for Australia and lets hope that this continue good till the end of the tournament.

Micheal Clarke and Cameron White looks depressed in the business . even though Clarke Played a match winning knock in the first encounter against Zimbabawe, he is not so active in the field and so is Cameron White. But these are players who has developed immense potential stored in them, and feels that they come out when the team needs them. Punters team is ahead in terms of confidence and we need to ensure that the spirit does not turnoff till winning the world cup.
